Streets and Stage for ages 7-10 is especially designed for our Combo and Elementary dancers who want a little more exposure to some other styles. This class will cover basic hip hop technique, and musical theatre elements, including tap and jazz. This class DOES NOT take the place of our Elementary level technique based classes, but will add a new dimension to the dancers curriculum! Proper dance attire must be worn, and tan jazz shoes and black tap shoes are required.

 

Musical Theater begins at age 11. This class dives deeper into Broadway theater style dance, which is influenced by both jazz and tap styles. This is a fun, expressive, animated class focusing on musicals, acting, singing, dancing as well as some musical history.

Our year long curriculum is based on a 34-week season, which includes class instruction, dress rehearsal time, and picture day. Season 11 begins on Friday, September 8th, 2023.

 

Dress Code:

Dancers should wear any color leotard or tights, ballet skirt and spandex shorts are optional.  Form-fitting shirts are okay, but should cover torso entirely and not be played with or adjusted during class. Tan jazz shoes are required, and should be purchased from a dance store, such as Definitely Dance in Exton, to ensure proper color and fit. Black Oxford style tap shoes may also be required. Boys should wear black jazz shoes, black leggings, jazz pants, or spandex dance shorts with a white or plain black or TTL t-shirt that is not too loose. Long hair should be securely tied back.
